Drug, Opioid-Involved, and Heroin-Involved Overdose Deaths Among American Indians and Alaska Natives — Washington, 1999–2015 | MMWR: During 2013–2015, total drug and opioid-involved overdose mortality rates for American Indians and Alaska Natives were 2.7 times higher than those of whites in Washington. Misclassification of American Indians and Alaska Natives race in death certificates underestimated overdose mortality among American Indians and Alaska Natives in Washington by approximately 40%.
